Built on Smith & Wesson’s renowned L-Frame , the 686 was designed with the serious firearms enthusiast in mind. The strong, durable frame and barrel are built to handle continuous Magnum use and withstand heavy use — a design that has earned the L-Frame a long-standing reputation amongst shooters, hunters and law enforcement alike. So why are we advertising a brand new, specially ordered 686? This particular firearm was specially ordered in for a customer prior to the NSW Government’s new firearm legislation in 2025. It was supposed to be heading home with its new owner — unfortunately, the legislation had other ideas. Our customer is now unable to obtain a PTA due to being too far over the newly introduced firearm cap, leaving us with a brand new, specially ordered firearm that we now have to find another home for. It’s not a position we wanted to be in, and certainly not one our customer expected to find themselves in when they placed the order. But thanks to the NSW Labor Government’s new firearm caps, we’ve been left with no other choice but to put it up for sale.
