Wm Cashmore 12 Bore Hammer Gun (Serial 10363) – c.[removed] plus buyer to pay transfer and postage Offering a William Cashmore 12 bore top lever hammer gun, manufactured in Birmingham during the early 1890s. This is a genuine late Victorian sporting gun from one of Birmingham’s respected makers, with all original Birmingham black powder proof marks intact. Details • Maker: Wm Cashmore, Birmingham • Serial: 10363 • Date: c.[removed] (based on proof marks and rib style) • Action: Top lever, external hammers • Barrels: Damascus, with visible pattern • Chambers: 21⁄2′′ • Proof: Original Birmingham black powder definitive • Rib: Plain “Wm Cashmore” • Chokes: Marked “CHOKE” on both barrels • Condition: Fair — honest wear, barrels show age, wood has marks, action still locks up properly and is tight. Suitable for display, collection, or restoration. • Notes: Black powder proof only — not suitable for modern smokeless cartridges unless reproofed. Late serial hammer guns from Cashmore are less common, as most production had shifted to boxlocks by this period. This example retains its original Victorian proof marks, damascus barrels, and plain rib — typical of export guns supplied to Australia in the 1890s. Buyer to pay postage and transfer fee.
