Very Old (1941 or earlier) S & W Square Butt Revolver with some numbers prefixed by a "V" hence a Victory model. Markings, Barrel LHS, Smith & Wesson Barrel Top, Wesson Springfield, Mass USA E 3.6.06 Sept 14.00. Dec. 29.14 Frame LHS, U.S. Property G H.D Barrel RHS 38 S & W Ctg Barrel under, V 399489 Canvas Holster marked, Z L. & T Ltd 1941 It has been fitted with an orthopedic grip which is a Fitz Ten Ring plastic grip. I do not have the original wooden grip. This is a Victory model however has at some stage been blued? & had target sights fitted to it.
