$1,050.00
price as of 15 Sep 2026
Manufactured in 1917, this rifle retains matching serial numbers throughout, with the exception of an interesting factory stamping anomaly on the muzzle cap where the "1" and "0" appear transposed. Close inspection shows the "0" was struck with the same die style and matches the remaining serial markings, suggesting a wartime factory error rather than a later renumbering. Given its manufacture during the height of the Great War, it is easy to imagine the rifle was accepted into service rather than reworked to correct the mistake. The rifle functions exactly as it should and presents as a genuine untouched military arm. The timber wear and marks are entirely in keeping with a rifle that may well have seen service through both World Wars and the post-war period. The bore is lightly pitted throughout, but this hasn't affected it's accuracy. Buyer to pay postage and transfer fees where applicable.
